Windows 10 Freezes on Startup or Boot [Solved] - Driver Easy

Is there any explanation about that? Thanks Best regards Mattia. Was this reply helpful? Yes No. Sorry this didn't help. I did already tried to run with different hard drives but nothing, I cannot start windows, it happened only once but freezed immediatley after 5 min.

I tried also to install Ubuntu, but nothing, it freezes. I will post an update when I will finish the memtest. I have changed the mother board: same problem Changed the PSU: same problem Removed the Graphic card and connect the video to the motherboard: same problem I have disabled the C-states of the CPU in the bios and things got a little better, it takes a little bit longer to freeze but still is doing that. So, might be a problem with the CPU? I am trying now to buy a new CPU and see If I start with 2 or more cores, it freezes.

So the CPU is faulty. I am going to take a new one. Choose where you want to search below Search Search the Community.

I get the message the option to keep my files will not work. I would prefer not to have to reinstall everything. Was this reply helpful? Yes No. Sorry this didn't help. Sorry to take so long to get back to you, but the MS Community wouldn't let me back in!

After clicking on the Primary partition to install Windows, I get the message "We couldn't create a new partition or locate an existing one. For more information, see the Setup log files. Could it be there is not enough free space on Partition 3? If so, I could get into Safe Mode and backup and remove some stuff.

We need to do further investigation on your concern so that we can identify the cause of the issue:. The reason we ask is that, there are known random cases that when you use the System Restore via repair disk or using the media installer, the installed operating system could not be found. The system is an Alienware Aurora R3. The system is about 6 years old and uses the legacy BIOS. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. To fix the problem, I have listed the results from trying to use the Advanced Options in my first message.

It seems to me as if any option that results in an attempt to restart hangs the system. If I shut the system off using the physical off button on the top of the tower, it does not hang. Thank you for the feedback, Bob. If it does not work, try performing a Repair Upgrade to check if it works. This is if you are still able to boot to Windows. It appears as if I can delete the Partition 3 on Drive 4, but it would seem that would remove all W10 files, which might make a new installation of W10 not possible.

Also, I tried to backup the W7 drive from within Safe Mode, but it doesn't seem as if backup software works from within Safe Mode.

You suggest I do a backup while in Safe Mode, but how would you go about that? Choose where you want to search below Search Search the Community. Search the community and support articles Windows Windows 10 Search Community member. Last Monday I started W10 as usual. It started fine, but a few minutes later it crashed. I have been trying since then to get it back up and running. Do I any other options short of reinstall Windows 10?

System is an Alienware R3 with orignial W7 upgraded via download to W This thread is locked. You can follow the question or vote as helpful, but you cannot reply to this thread.
